In the midst of trying to sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers for the second time this season, the Arizona Diamondbacks answered a different challenge passed along by their NL West rival.

D-backs players bit into lemons and embraced the sour sensation all for a good cause.

Known as the #LemonFaceChallenge, the newest viral sensation was created by 11-year-old Aubreigh Nicholas.

The Alabama native suffers from Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare form of brain cancer.

As is customary, the D-backs passed along the challenge to none other than Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss.

Aside from the two Major League clubs, the challenge has received support from Alabama head coach Nick Saban and others across the U.S.
