Report: Free agent Shannon Brown will sign with Suns

One day before free agents can officially sign with NBA
teams, reports have circulated that free agent guard
Shannon Brown will sign a contract with the Phoenix Suns.
The deal, a one-year, $3.5 million deal has been confirmed
by Arizona Sports 620’s John Gambadoro. The deal will be
made official on Friday.
Brown, 26, has spent the last two-plus seasons with the
Los Angeles Lakers, where he was part of NBA championship
teams in 2009 and 2010. He played in all 82 games in each
of the last two years, and averaged 8.7 points per game
last season.
The 6-foot-4 Michigan State product was originally a first
round pick (25th overall) of the Cleveland Cavaliers in
2005.
In 2008, Brown was part of a three-team trade with Chicago
and Seattle that sent him to the Bulls, where he played in
just six games. Following the 2008 season, he signed as a
free agent with the Charlotte Bobcats and then was traded
to the Lakers in 2009 along with Adam Morrison for
Vladimir Radmanovich.
