Arizona State has agreed to a deal with the SEC’s Mississippi State for a home-and-home football series starting in 2024, the school announced Tuesday.
The first game of the series will take place on Sept. 7, 2024, in Tempe at Sun Devil Stadium while the game at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville will be played the following year on Sept. 6, 2025. The two teams have never played before.
“This football agreement with Mississippi State University provides us with yet another strong future series with a Power 5 opponent, this one from the SEC,” Vice President of University Athletics Ray Anderson said in a press release. “This series complements our future series with LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, and BYU.”
After facing the University of Texas at San Antonio in the season opener this year, the Sun Devils take on Michigan State on Sept. 8.
In the past two years, ASU had a series against Texas Tech, winning 68-55 in 2016 and falling 52-45 last season.
