The Cardinals have picks 47, 97, 134, 182 and the coveted 254. With limited supply, I don’t think the Cardinals will be on the clock for very long.

Due to previous trades, the Cardinals don’t have any of their own picks in any remaining round except for the second round (47). The Cardinals do have compensatory picks in the third, fourth, and seventh rounds, plus they picked up the eighth pick in the sixth round by trading offensive tackle Jared Veldheer to Denver this offseason.

As in every draft, the amount of talent still on the board is staggering.

I can’t believe UTEP guard Will Hernandez and Iowa cornerback Josh Jackson are still on the board. I thought Lamar Jackson would go higher and then a desperate team would jump back into the first round for Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Since other players went ahead, it pushes someone great down to the Cardinals at No. 47.

When Arizona is on the clock in the second round, I think it will have a very small group of players to look at — and if they’re not there, I see general manager Steve Keim trading down.

This team has so many needs that five more picks aren’t going to cut it. All GMs miss on picks, and Keim needs more bites at the apple in a deep draft this year.

Here’s some players I’d like to see the Cardinals get at 47 or trade down if they’re off the board in the first 14 picks of round two:

I’ve already mentioned two of them.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock said this of Hernandez: “He just doesn’t like people.”

Jackson brings nothing flashy but excels at simple production.

Far and away, the most under-rated player in this draft is defensive tackle Harrison Phillips from Stanford. It’s a huge position of need if third-year pro and 2016 first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche continues trending toward becoming a bust. If he gets it this year, then Phillips is a small luxury compared to other names on the board but he’s too good to pass up.

Texas A&M and Saguaro High School product Christian Kirk or LSU’s D.J. Chark both fit as wide receivers for different reasons. I like Kirk over Chark, but I’m in the minority versus most draft prognosticators.

The last hole I would love for the Cardinals to plug is the center position.

James Daniels out of Iowa has flaws. He would need bigger guards to protect him because he’s more of an athletic center than he is a road-grader. I like him because I think he’s brilliant. No, I don’t have a library of film of Iowa football and I’ve never talked to Daniels. However, I’m lucky enough to have friends in football that are willing to tell me what they know. Combine that with what I do see on the TV broadcasts, and I believe Daniels is a great choice for the Cardinals.

I gave you six guys that I would want as a Cardinals fan at 47. If they’re gone, get more picks.
