Not only did the Phoenix Suns lose their preseason opener
to
the Denver Nuggets 127-110 on Tuesday night.

Starting center Marcin Gortat also suffered an injury in
the
loss. The
fifth-year pro tweeted following the game that he
suffered a broken thumb in the game against Denver.

Great start!!! Lost game and broken thumb!!!
Awsome….last thing i need right now!!!!

According to Arizona Sports 620’s Craig Grialou, who spoke
with Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby on
Wednesday, Gortat is expected to sit out practice for a
few days and then will experiment playing with a splint.

That means Gortat won’t play in the preseason game against
Denver on Thursday and Babby says the Polish big man is
questionable for Monday’s season opener against New
Orleans.
