Michael ‘almost’ Redd(y) to make Suns debut

Jan 9, 2012, 3:32 AM

Before Sunday night’s game against Milwaukee, Suns head coach Alvin Gentry said Michael Redd is “almost” ready to make his debut.

Gentry mentionned “stick(ing) him out there” for a couple of minutes when the Suns host Cleveland Thursday, which would be two weeks to the day after Redd signed.

“That’s encouraging,” Redd responded when told of Gentry’s comment. “They’ve done a great job of slowly bringing me along.”

Tuesday will mark the two year anniversary since Redd, for a second time, tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee.

“There’s no pain, no setbacks at all,” he said.

Bucks head coach Scott Skiles had a front row view of both injuries. “He deserves a lot of credit for working his way back.”

Redd will get in two more practices and a pair of shoot-arounds prior to possibly suiting up for the first time.
