GM survey is out, Suns are tough to find on the list

NBA.com released its 10th annual GM survey, and according to those
polled the Miami Heat are expected to win the 2012 NBA
Finals, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder in the process.
It should come as little surprise that the Suns were not
mentioned in any of the “best of” categories for teams, as
the Lakers and Clippers battled for the top spot in the
Pacific Division and the team has no MVP, franchise guy or
game-changing player on the list.
However, the Suns weren’t shutout from any honors.
Markieff Morris came in fifth for “who will win the 2011-
12 Rookie of the Year award,” though there is a wide gap
between him and the player predicted to win, Cleveland’s
Kyrie Irving.
Of course, Steve Nash appeared more often than any other
Suns player in the survey, as he was second for “best
international player in the NBA” behind Dirk Nowitzki,
fourth for “which active player will make the best head
coach someday,” second for “who is the NBA’s best passer”
and is also third for “what player does the most with the
least,” as well as “which player is the best leader.”
Where Nash tops the list is for “best basketball IQ,”
where the veteran garnered 28.6 percent of the vote.
Other Suns on the list are Grant Hill, who GMs also think
will make a great head coach someday but also made a
curious decision to return to Phoenix this season.
