The latest episode of “Cardinals Flight Plan” covered the various aspects of the Arizona Cardinals taking step one to really start the upcoming season.
Arriving at the facilities and signing paperwork, taking photos in the uniform and getting equipment fitted were all a part of the process for the Cardinals rookies.
That, as well, was highlighted by the wise insight and advice of Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald.
“You think you know it when you really don’t know it,” Fitzgerald said of the advice he wishes he could have given himself when he was a rookie.
With the rookies, head coach Steve Wilks started the rookie mini-camp and wanted to establish the identity and “Cardinals DNA” of the team.
Part of that DNA will always be Pat Tillman.
“To be the first Cardinal drafted after such a tragedy did kind of let me know that I have to do something here,” Fitzgerald said.
The rookie mini-camp got underway and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy was mic’d up.
McCoy was consistently providing feedback to first-round pick Josh Rosen specifically, giving him pointers throughout his play.
Rosen and second-round pick Christian Kirk were with the media after, speaking to their potential chemistry and first impressions of play.
Rosen sealed the deal and ended the episode by signing his rookie contract.
The next episode of the Facebook series will be on May 30, looking at David Johnson and the beginning of OTAs.
