Suns face back-to-back-to-back set

Jared Dudley remembers the last time he played three games
in three days: the 2006 ACC Tournament. After successive
wins over Maryland and North Carolina, Dudley’s Boston
College Eagles fell to top-seed Duke, 78-76 in the
championship.

“That third game,” he said before pausing. “I’m telling
you, it’s a beast. It’s definitely a beast.”

Dudley will stand toe-to-toe with the beast again this
week when he and the Suns play three straight times,
beginning tonight at Golden State.

“For me, it’s resting. That’s key,” he explained on how
he’ll prepare for the three-game, three-day, three-city
stretch. “Instead of going to a movie, maybe just staying
in your room and icing up. They give us these recovery
tights where it kind of saves our legs. Nutrition is big
and what you eat. You stay away from the fast food,
eating healthy (like) salads and grilled food.”

From Golden State, the Suns will fly to Denver to play the
Nuggets Tuesday before heading back home Wednesday to host
Atlanta.

“We’ll make the adjustment after the game,” head coach
Alvin Gentry said when asked about the possibility of
resting his veterans (i.e. Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Michael
Redd) for one of the three games. “After one game we’ll
decide. After another game we’ll decide. But I don’t
think it’s anything that we can decide up front.”

Added Dudley, “Everyone has got to go through it so you
can’t come with really any excuses.”

The Suns have a second back-to-back-to-back next month:
home games against Utah (3/14) and Detroit (3/16)
sandwhiched around a trip to L.A. to play the Clippers
(3/15).
