Report: Suns interested in adding J.J. Hickson

In 2009, when the Suns were considering trading Amare
Stoudemire, one of the teams rumored to be interested was
the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Of the names tossed around for who would be sent to
Phoenix for the All-Star was second-year pro J.J. Hickson,
a power forward who had shown some ability in limited
action.

While a trade never materialized, there’s a chance Hickson
may land in Phoenix, anyway.

Released by the Kings Monday, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski
reports the Suns are one of the teams interested in adding
the 23-year-old.

Hickson is not far removed from looking promising, as he
averaged 13.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for
Cleveland in 2010-11. But he struggled in his first season
with the Kings, scoring just 4.7 points and grabbing 5
rebounds per game in fewer than 19 minutes of action.

Still, Hickson is not worth giving up on, and would be a
solid addition for a Suns team looking to add young talent
wherever it can get it.
