Report: Michael Beasley agrees to deal with Phoenix Suns

Jul 5, 2012, 1:32 AM | Updated: 2:49 am

Free agent small forward Michael Beasley has agreed to a three-
year, $18 million contract with the Phoenix Suns, reports said.

Last season in Minnesota, Beasley had a .455 field goal average and
averaged 11.5 points per game.

Drafted second overall in 2008 by Miami, Beasley spent the last two
seasons in Minnesota, averaging a career-best 19.2 points per
game in 2010-11. He struggled with his role and injuries last
season, but could be the type of player Phoenix needs.

While Beasley is talented, he has off-the-court question marks that
could scare off some teams. But at 6-foot-10 Beasley can be a
matchup problem on the offensive end, which is something a
scoring-deficient team like the Suns could certainly use.

Beasley’s signing comes in the wake of Eric Gordon signing a max offer
sheet

with the Suns and the sign-and-trade deal for Steve Nash.

Beasley had been included in Suns rumors for quite some time.
