Steve Nash’s audio message to Suns fans

Goodbyes are never easy, especially when you’re a high-
profile
athlete in a city that adores you.

Steve Nash is one of those athletes, and is faced with
saying goodbye to a fan base that supported him for the
past eight seasons (and ten total).

Nash, of course, is the newest member of the Los Angeles
Lakers after news of a sign-and-trade deal with the Suns
was announced Wednesday. As compensation, the Suns will
receive four draft picks over the next three seasons along
with $3 million in cash.

Ever ahead of the social media curve, Nash recorded an
audio message to Suns fans on Hallo Thursday.

Hey Suns fans, I just want to say thank you
for the last eight years. The unwavering support, the
fun, a lifetime full of memories — it was just
incredible. You know, I didn’t want it to come to an end
but everything does. As I say goodbye, I just want to say
I hope you guys win your championship that you deserve so
greatly soon. So, thanks again. I love you guys.

Nash departs Phoenix as the Suns’ all-time leader in
assists, three-point field goals and free throw shooting.
He ranks third in games played, seventh in scoring and
tenth in steals.
