Deandre Ayton, Barrett Hayton to throw first pitch at D-backs games

The Valley will get a look at how two first-round picks handle a baseball over the next few days.

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that Deandre Ayton, picked No. 1 in the NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, will throw the ceremonial first pitch on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Coyotes draft pick Barrett Hayton will take the mound.

The D-backs will take on the San Francisco Giants at 1:10 on Sunday.

After the Giants series, Arizona will play against the St. Louis Cardinals. The game on Tuesday begins at 6:40 p.m.
