The Phoenix Suns have signed former Houston Rockets small forward Trevor Ariza, the team announced Friday.

The deal is for one year and is worth $15 million, 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro confirmed.

In his 14-year career, Ariza has proven himself to be an effective complement on the wing.

After four years with the Rockets, Ariza shot around 36 percent from 3-point range on over six attempts a game. He is a certified “great” shooter on that volume of attempts.

Looking at his career totals, Ariza has averaged 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Ariza is also a notable defender who can move around the court and is projected to take over starting power forward duties for the Suns.

In addition, Ariza also brings with him postseason experience, having spent time with Orlando, Los Angles and Houston.
