Brad Casper resigns as President of Phoenix Suns

Jul 27, 2012, 12:42 AM | Updated: 1:59 am

Brad Casper has resigned as President of the Phoenix Suns, according to a team press release.

Chief Operating Officer Jason Rowley will step in immediately and assume the duties for the team’s business operations as president.

Suns’ Vice President of Communications Tanya Wheeless explained the reason for the change.

“As [Casper] stated in his statement, he has had a number of different businesses that he has pursued and continued since joining the Suns,” Wheelis said. “He’s decided that he would like more time to focus on those.”

Casper joined the Suns last October after a 5 1/2 year run as President and CEO of Dial Corporation.

Rowley became COO in October 2011 after serving as the club’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel for four seasons. His responsibilities included overseeing business units including broadcasting, arena operations, legal affairs and game operations.
