After a long rebuild, the Phoenix Suns are finally favored to win a championship.

No, it’s not the NBA Finals, but the Suns have the best odds at 8/1 of capturing the Summer League championship in Las Vegas beginning Friday, according to Las Vegas SuperBook.

With a roster highlighted by No.1 pick Deandre Ayton, Josh Jackson and No. 10 pick Mikal Bridges, the Suns sport an impressive team to compete against the rest of the NBA’s young talent.

Another benefit to the Suns is that first-year head coach Igor Kokoskov will coach the team for the entirety of the 12-day tournament.

The Suns open up against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Phoenix then faces the Sacramento Kings at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The matchup will include the first and second picks in this year’s draft as Ayton will take on Duke product Marvin Bagley III.

As the favorites to win in Vegas, the Suns feature a mix of rookies as well as players with previous summer league experience, including Josh Jackson, Dragan Bender, Alec Peters and Davon Reed.

The Kings have the second best odds to be crowned champions on July 15 with 10/1 odds.
