Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns put pen to paper on Saturday, as the 21-year-old guard signed a maximum contract extension.
The extension is five-years, $158 million, according to Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania, and cemented Booker as the face of the franchise for years to come.
Shortly after the contract became official, the Suns posted a video on their Twitter account of Booker, thanking the fans and expressing his excitement to remain with the franchise.

“Phoenix Suns fans, it’s official,” Booker said in the video. “The day I’ve been waiting on, signing another five years with the great organization. The future is here, it’s looking good. I’m excited.”
The 6-foot-6 guard also posted a message to his own personal Twitter account, further expressing his gratitude and excitement to remain in Phoenix.
I am humbled & honored to commit to the Suns organization long term. I loved calling Phoenix home the last 3 seasons as this team & community are special to me. Thank you to the Suns for drafting me and believing in me. I look forward to the future & pursuing a title as a Sun. pic.twitter.com/AHRaraPww6

While Booker’s extension may not come as much of a surprise to some, it certainly added to the excitement level of fans, felt since Phoenix drafted Deandre Ayton No. 1 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Them, along with other players around the NBA — including Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl Anthony Towns, who is Booker’s best friend — reacted on social media shortly after the extension was made official.
You deserve every cent brother ✊🏽
