Phoenix Suns exercise option on Markieff Morris

The Phoenix Suns announced Thursday they have exercised the team’s 2013-14 option on forward Markieff Morris.
Morris, originally selected by the Suns with the 13th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in just under 20 minutes per night as a rookie. He was one of just six rookies to average at least seven points and four rebounds last season.
Morris has had a good preseason for the Suns, averaging a team-best 11.7 points to go along with 6.3 rebounds per game.
