After the Milwaukee Brewers received strong acclaim for recreating an iconic scene from the movie “Sandlot,” the Arizona Diamondbacks put their spin on another iconic baseball movie.
Using members of their 20th anniversary team, the D-backs parodied the meeting on the mound scene from “Bull Durham.”
This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains. pic.twitter.com/16rImZdv1C

The characters played by Tim Robbins and Kevin Costner in the original film are portrayed by former D-backs Randy Johnson and Miguel Montero, who like in the film attempted to find a solutions for some pitching issues — but there was also off-the-field “stuff” to be discussed.
Johnson, Montero, Paul Goldschmidt, Luis Gonzalez, A.J. Pollock, Bob Brenly and team president Derrick Hall starred in the video, wearing uniforms from throughout the team’s 20 year existence.
For their performances, the D-backs received a stamp of approval from Robert Wuhl, who was the Bulls’ pitching coach in the movie.

Nicely done, D-backs. Hopefully the pitching staff won’t resort to hitting the bull.
