Searching for defensive depth, the Arizona Cardinals will host safety Mike Mitchell and linebacker Arthur Moats on visits Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The free agents each played for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last four seasons.

Mitchell, who recorded 53 tackles and two passes defensed in 13 games last season, played under Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks for one season in 2013, when Wilks was the Carolina Panthers defensive backs coach.

A second-round pick in 2009, Mitchell has accumulated 487 career tackles and 10 interceptions in his nine-year NFL career that began with the Oakland Raiders from 2009-2013.

While visiting the Cardinals, Mitchell will take a physical, added ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who first reported the expected meeting on Wednesday.

Arizona’s depth at safety remains uncertain even though the team is expected to start second-year pro Budda Baker and picked up veteran Antoine Bethea’s deal for 2018.

This offseason, the Cardinals released Tyrann Mathieu and appears to have moved on from fellow starter Tyvon Branch, who remains a free agent after tearing his ACL midway through the 2017 season.

Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper reported that Moats will also visit Arizona.

Moats recorded eight tackles in a limited role with the Steelers last season. A sixth-round pick in 2010 by the Bills, the linebacker’s best NFL season came with Buffalo in 2013, when he recorded 54 tackles.

The depth chart at linebacker also has question marks behind leader Deone Bucannon, second-year pro Haason Reddick and the re-signed Josh Bynes.
