The Arizona Diamondbacks have officially acquired Texas Rangers reliever Jake Diekman, the team announced Tuesday.

Arizona is sending minor leaguer Wei-Chieh Huang and another player to be named later. In addition, left-handed pitcher Jorge De La Rosa was designated for assignment.

Huang was the team’s No. 22 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The right-hander spent time with both Double-A Jackson and Class A-Advanced Visalia. With Jackson, Huang tossed a 2.00 ERA in 10 games played. He went 2-1, made one save and struck out 32 in 27.0 innings pitched.

Diekman has spent time with the Philadelphia Phillies and Rangers.

He won’t have to go far to join his new team as the Rangers are in Arizona for a two-game series with the D-backs.

In 47 games played (39.0 IP), Diekman has a 3.69 ERA with 48 strikeouts and two saves. He’s allowed 16 earned runs in 2018.

Diekman would be the latest reliever to join the D-backs Tuesday.

The Miami Marlins traded Brad Ziegler to Arizona earlier in the day.

In 2018, Ziegler is 1-5 with a 3.98 ERA. He’s pitched 52.0 innings (53 games) and has 10 saves on the season to go along with 37 strikeouts and a 1.27 WHIP.

The D-backs have acquired three relievers through July trades in Diekman, Ziegler and Matt Andriese.
