D-backs add RHP Brad Ziegler to active roster

The Arizona Diamondbacks officially added right-hander Brad Ziegler to the active roster Thursday after he was acquired from the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.
In addition, right-hander Silvino Brancho was optioned to the Triple-A Reno Aces.
Ziegler returns to Arizona after spending six of his 11 seasons with the team from 2011-15. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox from the D-backs in 2016 before he was traded again to the Marlins in 2017.
The 38-year-old closer is 1-5 with a 3.98 ERA. He’s pitched 52.0 innings in 53 games and has 10 saves with a 1.27 WHIP.
Ziegler had his best seasons with the D-backs where he had a career-high 30 saves in 2015 and holds the franchise record for most consecutive with 43.
He also leads all D-backs pitchers with 348 games played.
