The 20th anniversary team must have left some good mojo out on the field on Saturday.

The D-backs unloaded against the Giants in the first inning, racking up five runs before San Francisco could muster the third out.

Seem familiar?

Arizona put up a five spot in the first inning Friday night, kicked off by Paul Goldschmidt’s 200th career home run.

It’s the second time in franchise history the D-backs scored at least five runs in the first inning of back-to-back games. The team leads MLB with 92 first-inning runs.

Outfielder Steven Souza Jr. started things off with a bang, bringing in David Peralta and Goldschmidt with a two-run triple.

The outfielder wouldn’t have to wait long at third base as the next batter, Nick Ahmed, was able to bring Souza home with an RBI single.

With his first-inning RBI, Ahmed now has 16 in his last 15 games.

But what’s better than a three-run inning? A five-run inning, courtesy of a Ketel Marte two-run bomb.

Marte’s latest home run marked his 10th longball in 2018. With that swing, he became the fourth player in franchise history to record at least 10 triples and 10 homers in a single season. He joins Steve Finley (two times), Stephen Drew (three times) and David Peralta as the only D-backs to accomplish the feat.

According to Statcast, Marte’s home run measured 465 feet, the ninth-longest in MLB this season.
