Arizona’s newest professional football team Alliance Phoenix signed the first 12 players that will don the uniform.

There is an Arizona connection with two of the players selected by the team, Jacob Alsadek and Bronson Hill.

Alsadek was a four year starter for the University of Arizona before being cut by the Green Bay Packers in February of this year.

Hill played his college ball at Eastern Michigan and struggled to land on an NFL roster. He earned a spot on the Cardinals’ roster in November and was active for only week before being cut.

The Alliance of American Football is the newest outlet for professional football founded by filmmaker Charlie Ebersol in March of this year.

These are the 10 other players Alliance Phoenix has signed:

Kamari Cotton-Moya — defensive back, Iowa State

Wyatt Demps — wide receiver, Nevada-Reno

Da’Sean Downey — linebacker, Massachusetts

James Fisher — long snapper, North Dakota State

Chris Johnson — defensive tackle, Western Kentucky

Anthony McMeans — offensive tackle, New Mexico State

Jhurell Pressley — running back, New Mexico

Prince Shonola — wide receiver, Rocky Mountain

Jordan Villamin — wide receiver, Oregon State

Kieron Williams — defensive back, Nebraska

The newest league consists of eight teams and will debut the week after the 2019 Super Bowl.

Alliance Phoenix will be coached by Tempe native and former NFL quarterback Rick Neuheisel and will play home games at Sun Devil Stadium.
