The Arizona Diamondbacks are chasing their second consecutive playoff berth.

The franchise has only made it six times. However, considering the team only has a 20-year history, that’s a pretty high percentage.

It’s actually the second-highest percentage in all of Major League Baseball.

Only the New York Yankees have made the postseason in a higher percentage of seasons than the D-backs have, according to Cut4.

Unsurprisingly, the Yankees also have the most total berths. Their 53 far and away eclipses the next-highest, the Dodgers, who have made the playoffs 31 times as a franchise in Brooklyn and Los Angeles.

The Dodgers have the third-highest percentage of appearances.

The San Francisco Giants, formerly a New York team, have made the playoffs 26 times. That’s tied for the fourth-most overall and in possession of the No. 9 spot in the percentage ranking.

Rounding out the National League West is the Colorado Rockies, who have made the playoffs four times since playing its first game in 1993.

That’s good for the No. 15 spot, percentage-wise.

Arizona’s percentage is higher than the other team born in 1998. The Tampa Bay Rays, which became a franchise the same year as the D-backs, have made the playoffs four times.

That puts them at the No. 6 spot in terms of percentage.

Every appearance for the Rays came between 2008 and 2013, including their World Series appearance in 2008.

The Chicago White Sox have made the playoffs nine times, but considering they became a team in 1894 — more than 100 years before the D-backs — that doesn’t look as impressive.

They’ve made the postseason the lowest percentage. The next-lowest, the Miami Marlins, has made the playoffs the fewest amount of times overall.

They’ve only been to the postseason twice since becoming a team in 1993, though they did win the World Series both times.
