Rams running back Steven Jackson is a monster. He posted 130 yards on 29 carries Sunday, but failed to get into the end zone. Despite a very impressive game, he was turned away twice on thirs and fourth downs and short in the fourth quarter that likely would have led to a game-winning touchdown field goal. The Cardinals defense did a good job of getting to Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. They sacked him four times for a total loss of 22 yards. The defense looked pretty solid all game, but still gave up 383 yards. St. Louis Rams' kicker Josh Brown was their highest scorer on Sunday. The Cardinals defense didn't give up a touchdown and forced the Rams to attempt four field goals, three of which were made. The would-be game-winner was blocked to send the game to overtime. Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton wasn't all that bad on Sunday. The backup took over for the inactive Kevin Kolb and completed 20 of his 35 attempts for 222 yards and a touchdown. He looked much more confident than last season and didn't throw an interception. That is the look of defeat. The Rams thought they had the game won, but a blocked field goal sent the game to overtime and, after a Rams three-and-out, Cardinals rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson had a 99-yard punt return for the winning touchdown.
