Patrick Peterson, ninth in Cardinals history in interceptions, has mentioned his desire to make more plays this season after snagging only one pick in 2017.

Peterson got things started in the preseason by not only grabbing an interception, but by taking it to the house.

It helped earn him a spot on Pro Football Focus’ 2018 All-Preseason Team.

Peterson was targeted just four times in the preseason and made opposing quarterbacks regret it when they did. Allowing just one reception for four yards, he too had an interception returned for a touchdown and allowed a passer rating of 0.0.

Peterson’s preseason grade of 93.4 was tied with Green Bay Packers cornerback Josh Jackson for the best by a defensive player.

His first quarter pick-six against the Dallas Cowboys in week three was one of eight forced turnovers that game alone by the Cardinals.

The Cardinals defense as a whole forced 17 turnovers in the preseason, which led the league with three more than the second-place Baltimore Ravens.

Sidney Jones of the Eagles, Marcus Williams of the Saints and Damontae Kazee of the Falcons joined Peterson and Jackson as members of the All-Preseason defensive secondary.
