ASU quarterback Manny Wilkins was having trouble completing long throws against Michigan State.

After starting 9-for-10, Wilkins completed just 19 of his next 33 passes. He often overthrew receivers when trying to find them deep.

But getting the ball at the 35-yard line with nine minutes remaining in the game, Wilkins showed off his arm and his accuracy that has allowed him to keep the starting role over competitors for so long.

He completed a 38-yard pass on a wheel route to receiver Kyle Williams before going to the opposite side and finding his star.

There was no safety help behind N’Keal Harry, who caught a 27-yard pass over his defender and fell into the end zone for ASU’s first touchdown of the game.

The potential first-round draft pick had been largely held in check throughout the game, catching five passes for 62 yards before that play. While respectable number, it wasn’t the production ASU has become accustomed to from him.

Harry finished the game with six receptions for 89 yards.

As for Williams, his catch to start the drive put him at seven receptions for 104 yards.

The drive, which lasted about 15 seconds, tied the game at 13 with 8:45 remaining in the game.
