A five-star recruit and point guard from Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Nico Mannion, has committed to the University of Arizona, per his announcement on social media.

Mannion, a 2019 recruit, was ranked on 247Sports as the No. 13 recruit in the country and the No. 1 in Arizona, as well as the nation’s top point guard.

At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, multiple sites have him listed as a five-star recruit, a big get for the Wildcats under head coach Sean Miller.

Named the Gatorade Arizona Player of the Year, Mannion led Pinnacle to its first 6A Championship last season.

He kept busy over summer, becoming the fourth-youngest player to play for the Italian National Team, according to FIBA Twitter.

Last season, Mannion averaged 23.4 points 5.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game for Pinnacle. In the championship game, he scored a game-high 21 points and made three 3-pointers.

He also attended the Steph Curry camp in August.
