Who wants Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl? Nobody, the answer is nobody

The Super Bowl — the most glorious, most anticipated, over-planned and over-celebrated sporting event in our country.

Thought goes into where it’s played, the parties around it, and of course, the halftime show. Or not.

The NFL reportedly has tabbed Maroon 5 as the featured halftime show performer, and that’s not landing well.

Look, this isn’t hating on Maroon 5. Props to them for making it big and pumping out hit after hit. We know lead singer Adam Levine is on “The Voice” and he’s talented and there are probably Maroon 5 fans reading this fuming, but — wait, who exactly are Maroon 5’s fans?

The point here is that Super Bowl LIII will be played in Atlanta, a culturally rich city known as a mecca for hip hop and R&B. You couldn’t go wrong with Outkast, Ciara (wife of NFL man Russell Wilson!), Migos, T.I. or Usher. Georgia is also home to country stars like Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean and the Zac Brown Band. We could roll out lists of rock or indie bands too.

The point is, Maroon 5 is blah and boring and not very Atlanta.

Also, seriously, who listens to Maroon 5 voluntarily?
