The Hotshots’ name and values are inspired by firefighters across the state, honoring workers of the U.S. Forest Service and other federal, state and county agencies, according to the team’s website.
Hotshots are the most highly trained team in the U.S. of 20 wildland firefighters, assigned to the hottest parts of the fire in any jurisdiction.
The Arizona team logo features a color scheme of yellow, green and orange of two cross-axe Pulaskis, resembling the firefighter logo. The team uniforms will feature yellow helmets and jerseys with dark green pants.
The AAF also announced other teams of the Atlanta Legends, Birmingham Iron, Memphis Express and Orlando Apollos. Teams of the AAF have been granted territorial rights to former collegiate and NFL players, says the team’s website.
The Hotshots features five former ASU players including Will Sutton, Carl Bradford, D.J. Calhoun, Demario Richard and Mike Bercovici.
