Josh Rosen’s first start at quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals got off to a rocky start, but the QB kept his cool to lead the team to a first half lead.

Drops by Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk plagued Rosen in the first half. Despite missing the target on his first two pass attempts and taking a sack on his first three drop backs, the UCLA product kept his composure.

Rosen was able to connect with Kirk, Fitzgerald and J.J. Nelson on a 13-play, 68-yard drive leading the Cardinals to Phil Dawson’s first field goal of the season.

The most exciting play of the drive was an incomplete pass intended for Chad Williams down the sideline that was initially ruled a touchdown, but overturned after a video review.

The 13-play drive was the only drive for the Cardinals that lasted longer than six plays.

The Cardinals earned a touchdown on a six-play drive later in the second quarter.

Rosen would connect with Fitzgerald on a 3rd and 5 for a six-yard first down that would set up a David Johnson touchdown run two plays later, giving the Cardinals the lead.

The rookie finished the first half completing 6-for-13 pass attempts with 50 yards and no interceptions.
