The Arizona Cardinals have been at the center of trade rumors in the NFL as of late.

The Cardinals were reported to be increasing their efforts to trade linebacker Deone Bucannon last week, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, and were also listening to offers on Haason Reddick. Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro said he didn’t expect either of those two players to be traded, but were willing to listen to offers.

On Friday, general manager Steve Keim told Doug & Wolf on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station that fans should “tread likely when it comes to trade talks, because very rarely are those accurate.”

Then, on Sunday, La Canfora reported that the Cardinals were open to trade talks on three-time All-Pro defensive back Patrick Peterson, writing that he is “is among the players the team is willing to move.”

Steve Wilks responded to that after the Cardinals’ loss to the Vikings on Sunday by, well… not responding.

“I don’t respond to things that are ludicrous,” he said in his postgame media availability.

Peterson, 28, has an interception and a fumble recovery this season and has been selected to the Pro Bowl seven times. He has been to the playoffs twice with Arizona, but now finds himself on a 1-5 Cardinals team that has struggled in just about every facet of the game.

According to Spotrac, he is signed through 2020 for a combined cap hit of about $25 million over the next two seasons.

The trade deadline for the NFL is Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. eastern.
