Just ten days after signing wide receiver Kendall Wright to a one-year deal, the Arizona Cardinals reversed course and released him, the team announced Thursday.
He did not appear in the game against the Vikings on Sunday.
Cornerback Deatrick Nichols, who the team released Oct. 8 to make room for Wright and then signed to the practice squad, was moved back to the active roster.
Wright, 28, played for the Chicago Bears last year and recorded 614 receiving yards on 59 catches, with one touchdown.
He also played previously for the Tennessee Titans for five seasons after his college career at Baylor. He was drafted in the first round (20th overall) by Tennessee in 2012.
Nichols has appeared in two games for the Cardinals this year, neither of them starts. The 24-year-old is an alumnus of South Florida and went undrafted. He signed as a free agent with Arizona this summer.
