Arizona State sophomore running back Trelon Smith has left the team, according to SunDevilSource.com.
Smith did not play in the first three games of the season due to a violation of team rules. In his season debut against Washington, he had eight carries for 45 yards and three catches for 16 yards, playing ahead of sophomore Isaiah Floyd as the backup to sophomore starting back Eno Benjamin.
In that game, though, Smith fumbled twice and lost one. Since that game, Smith has had four touches in three games.
Smith was third among running backs in carries this season with 11 for 56 yards.
Arizona State’s three running backs on the roster are now Benjamin, Floyd and true freshman A.J. Carter.
