The Draft Network’s Jon Ledyard ranked the situations for seven young NFL quarterbacks and unfortunately for Josh Rosen and the Cardinals, the outlook isn’t good.

Ledyard ranks Rosen as the young quarterback in the worst spot moving forward, earning just eight of the possible 25 points in his criteria.

Rosen received a “1” out of a possible five in three of five categories Ledyard assigned worth five points each.

The five categories were: Offensive coaching/scheme, offensive line/pass protection, head coach/culture, receivers/weapons and defense.

“The Cardinals are the worst situation for a rookie quarterback in the NFL, and it isn’t particularly close. They scored a 3-out-of-15 for the three most important aspects of a rookie quarterback’s situation, and aren’t above average in any area.”

Rosen is coming off his worst start of his rookie season, throwing a career-high three interceptions in the Cardinals’ 45-10 home loss to the Denver Broncos last Thursday.

Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy was fired last Friday and replaced with quarterbacks coach Byron Leftwich, a move Ledyard believes could improve Rosen’s stock moving forward.

“It’s almost unfathomable for an offensive coaching situation to be worse for a rookie quarterback. Not only was Mike McCoy clearly unfit for the title of offensive coordinator based on his history at the position, but he also lasted just five games into Rosen’s career. With Byron Leftwich assuming the offensive reins, we’ll see if things change from the current train wreck Rosen is firmly embedded in.”

MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes and Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky are in the best spot according to Ledyard, earning 21 points.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished with 16 points while the Texans’ Deshaun Watson and the Jets’ Sam Darnold each finished with 15 points.

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was the closest to Rosen, earning 12 points.

Rosen and the Cardinals look to snap a two-game losing streak when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
