Snapshot: Cardinals sneak out of Philadelphia with a win

The Arizona Cardinals may have a bit of a quarterback controversy on their hands next week. Backup John Skelton has put together two successful fourth quarters the last two weeks and led the offense well. It's arguable that Skelton has gotten a lot of help from special teams and the defense, but a win is a win. The Cardinals did a good job of shutting down the double threat of Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. He only ran eight times and, though he averaged just under 10 yards per carry, the Cardinals forced Vick to use his arm. He went 16-for-34 and 128 yards. Oh, and two interceptions. He was also sacked twice. An A.J. Jefferson interception was such a fitting end to the game after a good defensive effort. The Eagles only gained 289 yards on the Cardinals defense, who looked to be better than the Eagles for a majority of the game. They only allowed the Eagles three third down conversions of the 15 they attempted. It's nice to finally see the Cardinals receiver team creating some potent offensive threats. While they still have a long way to go, the receivers moved the Eagles secondary around and created space for one another. In all, they combined for 15 catches and three touchdowns. The wins over the past two weeks have likely taken the pressure off of Cardinals coach Ken Whisnenhunt, but Sunday's loss piled a heap of pressure on Eagles coach Andy Reid. After being favored as Superbowl contenders, the Eagles have struggled this season.
