GLENDALE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Josh Rosen hit Christian Kirk in the end zone with 34 seconds left to go ahead 18-15 in a comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers Sunday at State Farm Stadium.

Arizona trailed 15-3 two minutes into the fourth quarter before it received a spark from Larry Fitzgerald, who with eight catches for 102 yards, surpassed the 100-yard mark for the first time this year.

The Cardinals offense had produced just 41 yards in the second half before Rosen stepped up in the pocket and hit Fitzgerald for a 37-yard catch. Arizona earned another 15 for a roughing the passer call that moved the ball to the 49ers’ 13-yard line, and Rosen found Fitzgerald for a touchdown pass two plays later, pulling Arizona within five points of the 49ers.

Driving on its next possession, Arizona converted a pass on 2nd-and-8 to Jermaine Gresham for 13 yards, but he lost the ball as he stumbled. After initially being called out-of-bounds, a replay review changed the call to a Niners fumble recovery.

But Arizona’s defense came through, forcing a punt to give the offense 73 yards of ground to cover in 2:23.

That it did.

The Cardinals used 12 plays and converted two third downs — one by Fitzgerald and another by Chad Williams — as Rosen wrapped the possession with a 9-yard strike to Kirk. Fitzgerald tacked on a catch for the two-point conversion, and the defense held a last-gasp drive by the 49ers to move to 2-6 on the year.
