Rumors and rumblings of Arizona State wideout N’Keal Harry’s long term potential are becoming more justifiable by the day.

It was announced on Monday morning that Harry was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in Arizona State’s 38-35 victory over USC. The 20-year-old speedster sealed the win with a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown, ending a 21-point run from the Trojans in the second half.

Harry gained control of a right-skewed punt with 3:12 remaining in the third quarter. After gaining possession of the ball, the junior changed directions, evaded nine defenders and accelerated along the left sideline into the end zone.

Not only was this the third longest punt return in program history, but it was the program’s longest return in 46 years. The last Sun Devil to return a punt for that many yards was Morris Owens, who set the school record in 1972 with a 95-yard return.

In addition to his excellent special teams performance, Harry corralled four balls for 95 yards and a touchdown in the contest. While the reception count was lower than in previous games, Harry managed to link up with quarterback Manny Wilkins on deep passes including a 44-yard touchdown for the Sun Devils’ first score of the contest.

The Sun Devils will tackle the No. 16 Utah Utes on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Tempe.
