Sam Bradford was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.

The veteran quarterback made three starts in his brief tenure with the team after signing with the Cardinals in the offseason on a one-year, $20 million deal with $15 million guaranteed.

Bradford threw for just 400 yards in his three starts and posted a 2:4 touchdown to interception ratio.

The Cardinals were Bradford’s fourth different team over the past five seasons as the journey man quarterback has bounced from team to team battling persistent knee injuries.

In 2017, Bradford’s former coach Mike Zimmer called his knee condition “degenerative.”

Bradford won a Heisman Trophy with Oklahoma back in 2008 and was the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

In addition, the team also placed offensive lineman John Wetzel on injured reserve.
