Here’s what happens when you lose to the Cardinals
The Philadelphia Eagles had high hopes for 2011.
The organization went out and stockpiled free agents and
trade acquisitions like All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi
Asomugha, former Pro Bowlers Jason Babin, Steve Smith,
Ronnie Brown and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Super
Bowl Champion Cullen Jenkins.
Considering they were the NFC East champions a year ago,
there was reason to dub them the “Dream Team”.
Now, following a 3-6 start and a 21-17 loss to the Arizona
Cardinals the natives are restless in the City of
Brotherly Love.
Take this gentleman, for instance. “Angry Greg” offered
up his thoughts to CSNPhilly.com, and the reviews of the
Eagles were not exactly glowing. Nor was his praise for
the Cardinals evident.
“We lost to Red Skelton! A back-up quarterback. A guy
who graduated from Fordham, that powerhouse.”
Classic. The Cardinals probably aren’t going to rip off 8
or 9 wins in a row to get back into playoff contention,
but it is heart-warming to see a Cardinal victory cause
this type of reaction among Philly fans.
