The Arizona Coyotes recalled defenseman Dakota Mermis from the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners ahead of Thursday’s game against the Nashville Predators.
Defensemen Jakob Chychrun and Alex Goligoski are day-to-day with injuries, which prompted the move.
Mermis was recalled by the Coyotes on Nov. 6 but was sent back to Tucson on Sunday in preparation for Chychrun’s season debut.
In nine games with Tucson this season, the 24-year-old has registered five points and six penalty minutes.
Mermis played nine games with the Coyotes last season.
The Coyotes return home Thursday following a four-game road trip in which they went 1-2-1.
The team will play its next five games at Gila River Arena, where it is 4-3 this season.
Listen to Thursday’s game on ESPN 620 AM.
