Defenseman Robbie Russo was recalled by the Arizona Coyotes on Friday from the Tucson Roadrunners.
Russo has tallied eight assists in 13 games with the Roadrunners this season, his first in Tucson. He has also logged four penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +7.
The 25-year-old, Russo, played in 19 career games with the Detroit Red Wings in the 2016-17 season, after playing four seasons of college hockey with Notre Dame.
He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the New York Islanders.
The recall comes one day after Coyotes defenseman Jason Demers suffered a lower-body injury against the Nashville Predators, forcing him out of the game.
Demers scored a goal to help the Coyotes defeat the Predators 2-1 in the contest, it was the first goal of the season for the nine-year NHL veteran.
The Coyotes recently recalled defenseman Dakota Mermis due to lingering injuries to fellow defensemen Jakob Chychrun and Alex Goligoski.
