Kerry Rhodes goes to work, promptly leaves

Apr 26, 2011, 4:56 PM | Updated: 6:05 pm

The lockout over, Kerry Rhodes returned to work Tuesday.

Sort of.

Rhodes was one of a handful of players who showed up at the Cardinals’ Tempe training facility Tuesday, though none of the players were allowed to do much of anything once there.

He arrived at 10:15 a.m., spoke with reporters and went inside. He returned two minutes later, joking that he got better Tuesday.

“I thought I’d be able to go to my locker, but I can’t do that either,” safety Kerry Rhodes said.

Rhodes, though, said he didn’t expect to be allowed to do much, but showed up because, well, it was a good idea for him.

“I’ve got this thing where you come to work out, it’s like a big bonus,” he said. “The opportunity to come in, we’re working again, so the opportunity’s there to come in.

“[Player rep and teammate Jay Feely] texted me last night that if I’m in town to come here. I listen to Jay, he knows everything, so I listen to him.”

Also at the facility were linemen Jeremy Bridges, Levi Brown, Mike Leach and Rex Hadnot, and Rhodes said if things stay the same he’ll probably show up again Wednesday.
