The Arizona Cardinals have signed former ASU kicker Zane Gonzalez to their practice squad, the team announced along with a series of other roster moves.

Gonzalez played all four years of his college football for the Sun Devils and hit a career 82.8 percent of his field goal tries, including 92.0 percent his senior year. He also was 97.6 percent on extra point attempts. He won the 2016 Lou Groza Award, given to the top placekicker in college football, and finished his career as the all-time FBS leader in field goals made and points by a kicker.

Gonzalez was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round in 2017 and player there for two seasons, hitting 75 percent (15-of-20) of his field goal attempts his first year and just 2-of-5 this year, leading to his release on Sept. 18.

The move comes a day after the Cardinals released kicker Matt McCrane from their 53-man roster, and veteran Phil Dawson is expected to play this week against the Chargers.

The Cardinals also announced Tuesday the re-signing of cornerback David Amerson, while cornerback Chris Jones and wide receiver Jalen Tolliver were elevated to the active roster from the practice squad. Defensive end Vontarrius Dora and cornerback Jamar Taylor were each released.
