Arizona State basketball is on the brink of climbing into the Top 25.
In the latest AP Top 25 Poll, the Sun Devils received the most votes of teams not ranked with 156.
ASU has gotten off to a 5-0 start with a key victory against No. 25 Mississippi State on Nov. 19.
Freshman Luguentz Dort is averaging a team-high 23 points and 7.8 rebounds. He finished with a career-high 33 points against Utah State at T-Mobile Arena as ASU won the MGM Resorts Title in LasVegas.
ASU has now won 18 consecutive non-conference games during the regular season. This is the second consecutive season ASU has started the season 5-0 under Bobby Hurley in his fourth season as the head coach.
The Sun Devils have matchups coming up against ranked schools in No. 5 Nevada (Dec. 7) and No. 2 Kansas (Dec. 22). The team will begin conference play on Jan. 3 against Utah at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe.
Last season, ASU finished 20-12 with a trip to the NCAA Tournament, Hurley’s first as head coach of the Sun Devils in his third season.
