Well, that was quick. Just three days after he was released by the Arizona Cardinals, offensive tackle Andre Smith has once again signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to Jay Morrison, a Bengals reporter for the Athletic, Smith practiced with the team Thursday, wearing No. 71.
In eight games with the Cardinals, Smith struggled to create holes for running back David Johnson. And quarterback Josh Rosen’s protection in the backfield was inconsistent.
Prior to his short time in the Valley, Smith played on the Bengals for eight seasons in two separate stints. Smith has played 95 total games for Cincinnati, 81 of which he started.
There’s also another interesting development in this move. His first two opponents with the Bengals will be the last two he faced in Arizona.
Interesting twist in Andre Smith signing. The last two games he played were against the Chargers and the Raiders. The next two #Bengals opponents after Sunday are the Chargers and Raiders.

Without Smith, the Cardinals will start D.J. Humphries at left tackle, while rookie seventh-round pick Korey Cunningham will take over at right tackle as a result of his solid performance lately.
