The Arizona Coyotes are expected to start goaltender Adin Hill on Saturday for the second game in a row following his shutout at Nashville on Thursday night, reports 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station‘s John Gambadoro.
Gambadoro added Friday that Antti Raanta, the team’s starter who is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, could be back as soon as Tuesday at Los Angeles.
Hill stopped all 29 shots he faced against the Predators on Thursday to earn the shutout in his seventh career appearance. He’s on the Coyotes’ roster currently as Raanta and backup Darcy Kuemper each nurse lower-body injuries.
In light of those injuries, the Coyotes also have Hunter Miska up from Tucson along with Hill, and claimed goalie Calvin Pickard off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.
In a corresponding roster move to Pickard’s waiver claim, the Coyotes re-assigned forward Mario Kempe to the Tucson Roadrunners.
The Coyotes face the St. Louis Blues on Saturday at Gila River Arena. Puck drop for that game is slated for 6 p.m.
