The Arizona Coyotes will be without top-line forward Alex Galchenyuk for their game Tuesday at the Boston Bruins, according to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station‘s John Gambadoro.

Gambodoro reported Monday that Galchenyuk would be questionable for Tuesday and that forward Michael Bunting would play if Galchenyuk couldn’t. He also said goaltender Darcy Kuemper would play for the first time since Nov. 21 after recovering from a lower-body injury.

The Kuemper news was confirmed by ArizonaCoyotes.com reporter Dave Vest, who added that Adin Hill — not Calvin Pickard — would be the backup.

Galchenyuk has been playing on a top line with Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz, the latter of whom has scored at a point-per-game pace since joining the Coyotes in a trade with the Blackhawks in late November.

Galchenyuk has three goals and eight assists in 21 games in his first season with Arizona after he was traded to the Coyotes this offseason for Max Domi. The 24-year-old forward is averaging 16:25 time on ice and has split time between center and wing. Most recently, he’s been on the wing with Schmaltz at center.
