In his first full year of recruiting, Arizona State football head coach Herm Edwards has landed two four-star quarterbacks for 2019.

With Manny Wilkins leaving, Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon believes Jayden Daniels could win a starting position as a true freshman in Week 1.

Daniels, the fourth-ranked quarterback recruit in the nation by 247 Sports, would beat out fellow four-star true freshman Joey Yellen, three-star recruit Ethan Long, freshmen Bobby Avina and Beau Barrington, redshirt freshman Ryan Kelley, sophomore Grayson Barry and redshirt sophomores Dillon Sterling-Cole and Kurt Walding.

Given that (Daniels) threw 60-plus touchdowns in both 2017 and 2018, he should push Sterling-Cole and Kelley for first-string reps this spring.

At Cajon High School in San Bernadino, CA, Daniels threw a total of 122 touchdowns 9,654 yards and nine interceptions in his last 30 games. He also rushed for 2,828 yards and 31 touchdowns in those games.

The No. 82 nationally-ranked recruit signed a letter of intent with the Sun Devils after committing to the school on Dec. 13. He will appear in the Under Armour All-America Game, which Edwards has coached for several years in the past, on Jan. 3.
